In the vast majority of cases, users are disqualified from surveys because they are not part of the target demographic (i.e. a market research partner wants to focus on the shopping habits of older women, and so only members of that demographic will qualify for the survey). In these instances, where you lie outside the target demographic, there's nothing you can do to qualify.
However, there are a few mistakes to avoid and potential tech issues that can also cause disqualification. Below, you can find a breakdown of these issues.
Inconsistent or dishonest responses
You run the risk of being disqualified if you provide dishonest answers to appear part of the target demographic, take too long to respond, or give inconsistent (seemingly random) answers. There are automatic systems in place to screen out such users, for the sake of producing better data.
To avoid being disqualified for any of the above, follow these steps:
- Provide honest information about yourself when attempting to start a survey.
- Take your time to read questions carefully, but avoid taking long breaks.
- Watch out for 'attention-checking questions', which certain survey partners use to check respondents are answering properly.
Besides responding correctly, you should also check you are not running into of the technical issues described below.
Technical issues
There are also a number of potential tech issues that can cause survey disqualification.
- Ad Blockers & VPNs: You cannot use Freecash with ad blockers or VPNs enabled. Disable them before completing surveys, or any other offers.
- Session Timeout: An unstable connection can cause session timeout, which will result in disqualification. We recommend only starting surveys on strong, stable internet connections.
- Browser Issues: Although rare, certain browsers can create issues. Use Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, to avoid disqualification.
