Content

Since the release of Grand Theft Auto III, voice acting has been a key component in every version of the Grand Theft Auto game. It's a well-known fact that voice acting in games makes them seem more realistic.

GTA San Andreas features over 200 voice actors, but many players are unaware that some are celebrities because they cannot recognize whose voice is behind each character. That is why we decided to reveal all of GTA San Andreas's voice characters, including the main and side characters and radio hosts.

GTA San Andreas Voice Actors - Main Characters

GTA San Andreas features several main characters, including the protagonist CJ, antagonists, and other main characters that play an important part in the storyline of this game.  You may know all the characters already, but we're almost sure you didn't know the voice actors behind them, despite the fact that GTA San Andreas features dozens of celebrities. So keep scrolling to learn more about them in the following section.

Carl Johnson [Young Maylay]

Young Maylay, whose real name is Christopher Bellard, is a rapper, record producer, actor, and voice actor from Los Angeles, California. He was renowned for his rap career that started in the early 2000s, and his songs were featured on many releases on West Coast.  He was working in New York when he got a call from DJ Pooh, who had previously met with Rockstar Games representatives, and asked him if he would be interested in portraying the CJ in the upcoming game GTA San Andreas.

Years after the game's release, Maylay has stated that he will never collaborate with Rockstar Games again due to certain conflicts, so we won't hear him playing CJ if that happens any time in the future. Bellard is related to Shawn Fonteno, who portrayed Franklin Clinton in GTA V.
