If you signed up to Freecash with a different email than the one you use for PayPal, Venmo, or another payout method, you can enter the correct email address every time you withdraw funds. Your payment is always sent to the address you type in during cashout, not the email linked to your Freecash account.

Freecash cashout email field

Please double-check this field every time you cash out to make sure your funds reach the right account.

I entered the wrong email address, what can I do?

If you have already started a withdrawal, there is a process to recover your funds. Please note that once a withdrawal has started it cannot be canceled, because the payment is sent directly to the email address you entered.

Almost all cashouts are now processed through our payment provider, Tremendous. Tremendous does not notify us whether a payout has been claimed, so we are unable to see or reverse it on our end. To recover a payment sent to the wrong email address, contact Tremendous directly:

  • Email [email protected].
  • Provide the incorrect email address the cashout was sent to.
  • Provide your Transaction ID (you can find this on your Cashout page under "My Withdrawals").

Tremendous will then reach out to you to help resolve the issue.

Note: A small number of withdrawals are still processed via Tango. If your cashout was processed through Tango and remains unclaimed for 30 days, it will automatically be returned to us, and we can then refund the balance to your Freecash account.

If the wrong email is one you actually own, you can often claim the payout yourself. Follow the steps for your payout method below.

Fix a wrong PayPal email address

If you sent money to an email address you control that isn't yet linked to PayPal, you can simply add that email to your existing PayPal account to claim the funds immediately:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. In the Email section, select the "+" icon.
  4. Enter the email address you used at cashout and select "Add Email."
  5. Follow the link in the confirmation email PayPal sends you.

Fix a wrong Venmo email address

If you sent money to an email address you control that isn't yet linked to Venmo, add and verify that email on Venmo to claim the funds immediately. You can do this in the app or on the website.

To add or update an email in the Venmo app:

  1. Go to the Me tab.
  2. Tap the Settings gear in the top right.
  3. Select Account under Preferences.
  4. Tap Profile.
  5. Enter the new email address in the Email field and tap Save.

To add or update an email on the Venmo website:

  1. Navigate to Venmo.com and sign in.
  2. Click Settings, then click Profile.
  3. In the Email Address field, enter your new email.
  4. Click Save Settings.

After adding the address, be sure to follow the link in the verification email Venmo sends you. Verifying the email right away is essential to claim your pending funds.

Bank transfers, Amazon, Google Play, and other gift cards

For bank transfer (ACH) and gift card rewards such as Amazon and Google Play, there is no account to link. Your reward or claim link is delivered to the inbox you entered at cashout, so open that email and follow its instructions to claim it.

If you cannot access that inbox, contact Tremendous at [email protected] with your Transaction ID from the "My Withdrawals" tab on your Cashout page.

What if I entered an email address owned by someone else?

Unfortunately, we cannot recover funds if you entered an incorrect email address and the owner of that address claims the payment. Always verify the recipient's email address before confirming your withdrawal to ensure your funds arrive safely.
