Use Microsoft Office on the Web
Microsoft PowerPoint is available for free through the browser via Microsoft 365 on the web. No subscription is needed — Microsoft prompts users to download the desktop app, but the browser version is fully functional and costs nothing.
To get started,
- Create a free account at m365.cloud.microsoft
- Go to the Apps page at office.com/apps
- Select PowerPoint from the listed options
Skip any prompts to download Office 365 — the in-browser version is free. All files created in-browser save automatically to OneDrive.
Download the Free PowerPoint App
The PowerPoint mobile app is free on both Android and iOS. An internet connection is all that's needed to create and edit presentations directly from a phone.

Get the Student and Educator Discount
Students and educators can access Microsoft PowerPoint for free or at a reduced price through Office 365 Education. The first step is checking whether a school or institution already has a business account set up.
For educators whose school isn't yet enrolled, signing up takes three steps:
- Go to the official Office 365 Education page
- Select "Get Started" and create a new account
- Choose the plan that fits the school's needs
Once enrolled, educators can invite students via email to join the Office 365 workspace.
Use Freecash to Cover Subscription Costs
For anyone who needs PowerPoint installed locally rather than accessed through a browser, a paid Microsoft 365 subscription is the main route. Freecash is a rewards platform that lets users offset those costs by earning cash through games, surveys, and app offers.
Getting started takes three steps:
- Sign up for Freecash using an email, Google, or Facebook account
- Complete tasks — leveling up in a game, answering a survey, or testing a new app
- Cash out via one of 20 withdrawal methods, including PayPal and Visa
Freecash earnings can go toward any recurring subscription — Microsoft 365, Discord Nitro, or anything else that would otherwise come out of pocket.
