If you're at least 18, you can do every kind of online work available to other adults, from market research to product testing. However, if you're a younger teen, there are far fewer options.
But don't lose help; here are the best online jobs for teens!
Begin Tutoring with Platforms that Allow Teens
Tutoring is one of the most popular jobs for teens IRL, and it's also one of the best online jobs. Certain tutoring platforms do not allow minors to join, but many do, like Tutorpeers, which is "made by students, for students".
As a young tutor, you will typically be asked to help your clients prepare teens for SAT/ACT tests, improve their average scores, and help with homework. Ideally, you are still pursuing the subject you wish to teach, but this is not a strict requirement.
Complete Paid Tasks Online via Freecash
Freecash is a task site where you can earn money for testing games, answering surveys, and signing up for new products. There are other sites like it, but Freecash allow 16 years old to join the platform, making it one of the best online jobs for teens.
If you're interested, it's free to join, and you can log in with Google or Facebook rather than creating an account. I would suggest at least checking out what kind of tasks are available in your area and how much you can make.
Generally speaking, to earn the most on Freecash, you want to target paid gaming. These tasks will ask you to log in for a number of days in a row, reach a certain level before a given date, or try specific features within the game.
This is certainly the fastest and most convenient way to start earning money online as a teen.
Start Freelancing on Your Parent/Guardian's Account
In the vast majority of countries around the world, you are not an adult until you are 18 and therefore cannot join any of the major freelancing platforms (except for countries with a lower age of majority; Cambodia, Cuba, Indonesia, Myanmar, Scotland, Vietnam and Yemen).
However, there is a legal workaround that currently still works on Fiverr: You can use an account owned by your parent or guardian to find freelance work.
Once on the platform, you could consider trying to find gigs that are commonly entrusted to teens:
Social Media Management: Boomers still think social media management is merely replying to comments, and as such, many smaller businesses are happy for teen freelancers to take over those channels.
Video Editing: Even with a very basic setup (a laptop and CapCut), you could turn raw footage into videos worthy of posting for small businesses.
Graphic Design: It's harder to "fake it till you make it" with graphic design, as much of the software still has a steep learning curve. But you could self-teach, at least to the point of being able to produce simple but professional graphics for clients.
Per Fiverr's ToS, the gig description has to make it clear that you're a minor working on a parent or guardian's account, but besides that it's fairly straightforward.

Sell Handmade Goods on Your Parent/Guardian's Account
As with Fiverr, there's a legal workaround you can do on Etsy. From their own ToS: "minors between 13 and 17 can sell on Etsy with the permission and direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian must register the account and be responsible for all activity, including financial transactions."
A lot of products on Etsy require expensive tools to create, but there are also a lot of handmade goods you could start producing for less than $50:
Beaded Jewelry: You can find all the tools you need, as well as the beads, for less than $20 on Amazon. To standout on Etsy, you could invest in some interesting trinkets to go on your jewelry alongside the beads.
Resin Jewelry: Epoxy resin is not expensive, but you will also need molds, and using it to make jewelry will take a little practice.
Candles: It's incredibly simple to make candles, and the materials are not expensive. What you really need to pay attention to, rather than the actual candle, is the holder. Find or make beautiful holders, and you will get sales.
Use friends and family to get those first sales, and more importantly, postive reviews.

Create a YouTube Channel to Grow & Monetize
And lastly, a suggestion that is far more rewarding and fun, but least likely to make you any money: Try building a YouTube channel you can monetize.
As with Fiverr and Etsy, your parent/guardian will need to own the account, and all ad revenue will be sent directly to them. But if you can trust them, which I really hope you can, you could give this a shot.
It's a difficult market to break into, especially without a team, but as long as you choose something you're genuinely passionate about, you already have a huge advantage over most channels. Good luck future YouTuber!
