Public playtesting for Battlefield 6 begins this weekend. Sadly, this is not a paid game testing event, like those hosted on Freecash for about $26,74 per day. But this is still a hugely exciting opportunity for fans of shooters.
When Does the Battlefield 6 Open Beta Start?
For the vast majority of players, the beta begins this Saturday morning, and they'll have 48 hours to enjoy the game until next Thursday, when the beta re-opens. But for those with Early Access, the beta begins this Thursday:

Early Access starts | Thursday, August 7 | 1:00 AM | 4:00 AM | 9:00 AM |
Public Beta Weekend 1 starts | Saturday, August 9 | 1:00 AM | 4:00 AM | 9:00 AM |

*The minimum required storage for the full game is 55 GB, so we expect the beta to be smaller than this.
How to Join the Battlefield 6 Early Access Beta
Bizarrely, you will not get Early Access if you pre-order the game. There are only three ways to start playing Battlefield 6 early:
- EA Play Pro subscribers (PC-only, available for $17.00/month) get Early Access to the Battlefield 6 beta automatically. You can read up on how to earn EA Play Pro for free in our recent guide on getting FC26 using gift cards from paid game testing.
- If you joined Battlefield Labs before July 31, you will also get sent an Early Access key. Joining now will not give you Early Access.
- Last month, EA released a few thousand Early Access keys via Twitch Drops to fans who were watching Battlefield streamers. Follow these steps to earn Early Access, if they repeat the event:
- Follow @Battlefield on Twitter, this is where you'll see official announcements when Twitch Drops go live.
- Sign into Twitch and connect your platform (Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation) at twitch.tv/settings/connections.
- Watch an eligible Battlefield streamer for at least 60 minutes, and make sure the stream has "Drops Enabled" so your watch time counts.
- Check your Twitch Drops at twitch.tv/drops/inventory to confirm you've received the drop.
The easiest way to get Early Access to the Battlefield 6 beta is by using Freecash to earn $20 in gift cards, then using those cards to fund an EA Play Pro subscription for a month.
You can earn that much in less than a day of playing games on your phone, or by signing up to test products like these
How Much of Battlefield 6 Can We Play During the Beta?
We do not yet know about the level cap or weapons, but they've released official details on the four maps and four modes we'll get to play.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Maps
- Siege of Cairo: Set in Egypt’s capital, this map features urban combat with both infantry and tanks.
- Empire State: A U.S.-based map focused on close-quarters infantry battles with no vehicles.
- Liberation Peak: Located in the mountains of Tajikistan, it combines long-range engagements and armored warfare.
- Iberian Offensive: A fast-paced battlefield set in Portugal where tanks and heavily armed infantry fight for early control.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Modes
- Conquest: A large-scale mode where teams capture and hold zones.
- Breakthrough: Attackers move through a set path of objectives, while defenders try to stop them.
- Squad Deathmatch: A small team deathmatch mode.
- Domination: A faster, close-range version of Conquest focused on capturing control points in tight areas (like CoD's Domination).
