6Without Energy, you can't move from island to island in Animals & Coins, and it's easy to burn through it. While Energy replenishes over time and can be purchased in the in-game shop, there are easier ways to keep your reserves topped up without spending real money.
Build on Islands (2+ Energy per Item, 25+ Energy per Island)
Spending Coins to build up your islands earns you Stars and Energy. Each item you build returns two Energy, so playing the game normally keeps your reserves ticking over.
Completing an island unlocks the next one and pays out a lump sum of Energy to get you started. The amount increases as you progress, so continued play is one of the most reliable ways to stay stocked up.
Wait for Hourly Top-Ups (5 Energy per Hour)
The game adds five Energy per hour automatically. It's a slow method, but it means you won't log back in after a break to an empty tank.
Watch Ads (5+ Energy per Ad)
When you're out of Energy, tap the button in the bottom right of the screen, just above the hamburger menu. Watching a short ad, usually around one minute, earns you five Energy.
There's also a daily Video Bundle on the store page (bottom left button) that rewards 10 Energy for watching one ad. Worth checking each time you log in.
Keep an eye out for a hot air balloon floating across the screen during play. Tapping it triggers an ad that can pay out 20, 50, or more Energy, making it far better value than the standard five.
Connect With Facebook (50+ Energy)
Linking your Animals & Coins account to Facebook pays out 50 Energy immediately. Tap the "Facebook Connect" button in the top right of the screen to claim it. The game won't post anything to your Facebook page.
Invite Friends (50+ Energy)
Tapping the "Friends Invite" button in the top right earns you 50 Energy per successful referral. You only receive the reward if the friend you invite approves your request, is a new player, and reaches Level 6.
Follow Animals & Coins on Social Media (50+ Energy)
Following the Animals & Coins Facebook page gives you access to free drops. Many rewards require you to comment a specific phrase, after which the reward is sent via Facebook DMs.
If that's not your preference, Videogamer collects the daily codes in one place so you can claim rewards without waiting on DMs.
Complete Card Sets (150+ Energy)
Card Sets sit to the left of the Energy icon at the bottom of the screen. Completing specific sets earns Coins, Energy, and Gems. The early Forest set, for example, pays out 150 Energy and four million Coins on completion, with rewards scaling up as you progress.
Trading duplicate cards with friends helps fill gaps in both collections faster. Comparing your cards with friends is one of the quickest ways to unlock set rewards without grinding for every card yourself.
