Without Energy, you can’t move from island to island in Animals & Coins, and it’s easy to burn through it. While the resource replenishes with time and can be purchased in the in-game shop, there are other easy ways to get free Energy in Animals & Coins if you’d prefer to keep your wallet closed.
Build on Islands (2+ Energy per item, 25+ Energy per island)
By spending Coins, you can build up your islands to earn Stars and Energy. Each item you build on an island earns you 2 energy, so you should be able to keep your energy reserves ticking over just by playing the game as it was intended.
For every level, or Island, you complete, you’ll rank up to the next one! This’ll give you a lump sum of Energy to get you going on your next island’s journey. The amount you receive for free increases as you progress, so keep on plugging away at the game to maximise your Energy gained.
Wait (5 Energy per hour)
It isn’t the most glamorous way to earn your Energy, but the game offers hourly top-ups. While this is far from a reliable way to stock up, it at least means you won’t log in after a day off from the game to an empty tank.
Watch Ads (5+ Energy per ad)
When you’re out of energy, hit the button that appears in the bottom right of the screen, just above the hamburger menu. It allows you to watch an ad, usually taking around a minute of your time, in exchange for 5 Energy. It isn’t much, and it’s quite a time-consuming method to use, but if you just need that one more step before your big Energy gain, this is the way to do it without paying.
There’s also a daily Video Bundle you can watch once a day from the store page (the button in the bottom left), which shows you an ad in exchange for 100k Coins and 10 Energy. It’s worth giving this a look whenever you log in!
Sometimes, a hot air balloon will float down the screen as you play with Energy rewards attached, so keep your eyes open for that as well. 20, 50, or more Energy for one of those ads is a lot better value than 5!
Connect with Facebook (50+ Energy)
By connecting your Animals & Friends account with Facebook, you can gain 50 Energy straight up. Just tap the button in the top right of the screen that says “Facebook Connect” to claim your reward! You’ll also get a bonus of 2 million Coins, and don’t worry - the game won’t post any content to your page on your behalf.
Invite Friends (50+ Energy)
Similarly to connecting with Facebook, you can earn quick 50 Energy by inviting a friend to play the game. Just hit the “Friends Invite” button in the top right. Keep in mind that you’ll only receive a reward if the friend you invite:
-
Approves your friend request
-
Is a new player
-
Reaches Level 6
Follow Animals & Coins on Social Media (50+ Energy)
By following the Animals & Coins Facebook page, you’ll be able to keep up-to-date on the latest free drops the game has on offer. Often, you’ll need to comment a specific phrase to ensure you receive the rewards, as they’ll be sent to your Facebook DMs.
If this isn’t for you, not to worry - sites like Videogamer collate the daily codes in one place, allowing you to quickly grab your daily rewards without waiting for the DMs to flow in.
Complete Card Sets (150+ Energy)
Card Sets can be found to the left of the Energy logo at the bottom of the screen. Here, you’ll find all the cards you’ve collected just by playing Animals & Coins. By completing specific sets of cards, you’ll be able to earn rewards in the form of Coins, Energy, and Gems. For example, the early unlock Forest set offers 4 million Coins and 150 Energy upon its completion. These numbers increase exponentially as you progress.
This is another benefit to adding friends on Animals & Coins - you can trade cards with friends to help each other fill gaps in your collections. You’ll almost definitely find duplicates, so go ahead and compare collections with your friends - you might be able to help each other to a whole load of free rewards!
