Some Freecash offer tasks let you choose how you get paid: take a guaranteed amount, or open a case for a chance at a much bigger reward. The task shows you both figures before you decide, and the choice is always yours.
These tasks replaced the Gold Wheel in August 2026.
How to Spot One of These Tasks
Open an offer from Earn or My Offers and look at its task list. While the task is still locked, you will see a countdown and a note that it pays a fixed or variable reward. Once you have met the requirement, the task unlocks and shows two buttons:
- Claim [amount] โ pays the guaranteed amount straight to your balance.
- Open Case โ opens the case for a random reward that can be worth several times more.
The line above the buttons sums it up: โClaim $0.50, or win up to $12.50.โ Both figures belong to that specific task on that specific offer, so they change from one offer to the next.
What Happens When You Open the Case
Selecting Open Case plays a short opening animation, then credits whatever the case landed on.
Before you open it, the case shows you its full contents: every reward it can pay, and the exact chance of each one. The rarest outcomes are shown to two decimal places, so a one-in-five-thousand prize reads as 0.02% rather than being rounded up. Nothing is hidden โ you can read the odds first and then decide.
The top prize is currently worth up to 25ร the guaranteed amount. It is also the rarest one in the case, which is exactly why every prize is listed with its own chance next to it.
Claiming the Guaranteed Amount Instead
You never have to open the case. Selecting Claim [amount] pays the guaranteed reward immediately and skips the case completely. The first time one of these tasks appears, Freecash points this out with a note on the claim button: โDonโt want to gamble? Take the guaranteed reward instead.โ
Either way, each task pays out once. Once you have claimed the guaranteed amount or opened the case, that task is finished and the decision cannot be reversed.
Why Did I Get Less Than the โUp Toโ Amount?
The โwin up toโ figure is the best outcome in the case, not the usual one. Smaller outcomes are far more common, and each oneโs chance is printed in the case before you open it.
So a small result is not a bug and not a problem with your account โ it is simply the prize the case landed on. If you would rather have a certain amount than a chance at a larger one, claim the guaranteed reward next time.
What Happened to the Gold Wheel?
The Gold Wheel was retired. Since 18 August 2026 it has been replaced by the case for all users, so there is no wheel left to spin. The same tasks now pay through the case, and they added the guaranteed-reward option that the wheel never had.
One thing worth knowing if you were mid-offer during the changeover: an offer you had already started before the switch can still show the higher maximum it was given when you started it. Offers you start now use the current maximum. Both work the same way โ open the case, or claim the guaranteed amount.
If Your Reward Does Not Show Up
- Refresh the page, or fully close and reopen the app. The balance occasionally catches up a moment after the claim.
- Check My Offers to confirm the task is marked as claimed.
- If it is claimed but the amount is still missing, create a support ticket with the offer name and a screenshot of the task.
Other Ways to Earn More on Offers
- Burning Tasks add a speed bonus on top of the normal payout when you reach a goal quickly.
