6 Ways to Get Paid to Write Honest Reviews

There is a huge speculation that writing reviews for money is a scam, or dishonest. Sometimes, they are. And I can attest that I have seen people fake reviews just to get their business noticed. Even Google Maps is very strict about reviews, and they will tear down your reviewer reputation if they think you are producing fake or AI created reviews.

But there is actually a benefit businesses can get from your reviews if you do this correctly. Lots of start up businesses need your help, and to do this honestly and correctly, I have found multiple ways you can get paid to write reviews, like reading books or listening to music, while actually make good side hustle income. 

Become a Google Local Guide Expert

Becoming a local guide on Google does not give you immediate earnings, but you can earn special rewards and recognition from Google for your contributions. This is another great way to show off to possible clients how well you review and what your experience would be. 

To be a Local Guide, you can earn from $5-10 per review. To withdraw money you would need to find gigs that pay you on platforms like Freelancer or Fiverr where your small review job can be genuinely noticed. However the rewards Google provide to Local Guides is mostly early access to new products and invitations to special events.

Paid review websites are super common to come across, with multiple options to choose from all providing a range of $10 or more per review. Knowing trustworthy and reliable websites, though, is the hardest part of this gig. Luckily, I have been able to find some of the better and higher trusted websites based on their reviews and rates.

Apply for Freelance Writing Gigs

Freelance gigs are a great way to make an extra $100-200 a month from writing reviews for multiple small companies. As a freelancer you use your writing skills and product experiences to provide thorough, quality written pieces for businesses that can set their brand up for success. 

One article or review can take from 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the client. Hoever this creates great partnerships between you and businesses to hopefully collaborate again in the future. 

I have personally been a freelance writer, and I have written many paid reviews off of platforms such as Upwork, LinkedIn and Fiverr. 

A few good searches to get started with would be “product reviewer” or “Review Blogger”. You can also follow the search links I will provide. 

As for LinkedIn it really depends on your job description and based on your current skill base. Simply search in the part-time job section for “review blogger” and you can see a handful of options. However for sake of simplicity Upwork and Fiverr are my higher recommendations. 

Write Review for Mobile Apps

Along with some of the best apps to make money, you can write reviews for mobile apps including games or service apps. You could also play games and get paid easily through Freecash which, by providing your playtime and overall game experience, it helps us have a sort of review on if the game or product app is useful!

Compared to many ways to review mobile apps, You can earn up to $27 or more per hour with Freecash, while with other sites it is closer to $5 or $10. Here you have one of the most rewarding options to earn cash quickly and provide essential feedback!

Influencer Partnerships on Social Media

If you can create a following on Instagram, Twitter or even Facebook, you could start getting partnership requests to promote their brand. Typically these are commission based but its a great way to passively make money while also doing something you love.

Kind of similar to partnerships on social media, you can advertise a brand on your website and of course social media by providing a link to potential customers after writing a review. These affiliate links if used offer you a percentage of the clients profits from your links.

Just keep in mind that finding affiliate links organically like through social media and knowing the brand itself is a bit more reliable and less forced. This is a great investment though as you can write reviews while also getting a decent pay range from $3-100 per review.
