The short version
  • The fastest sign-up bonuses are with reward apps and survey platforms

  • The highest bonus offers are usually on crypto or stock trading apps

  • Some sign-ups require personal information that not everyone feels comfortable sharing

You sign up, do what's asked, then find out the "instant" bonus needs weeks and a large minimum you never saw coming. I cashed out on every app here myself, so what's listed are the lowest-effort, quickest options based on your app or site of choice.

Chase Total Checking (up to $400)

$400 for depositing money into a bank account you could use every day anyway; it feels a little like finding cash in a coat pocket.

Chase Total Checking is the flagship consumer checking account offered by JPMorgan Chase, the largest commercial bank in the United States

I'd choose Chase immediately from this list. It's a popular, trusted bank and takes the least amount of your time. All you have to do is change where you deposit your money.

How the bonus works:

  1. Open a Chase Total Checking account online or in-branch using an official coupon code.
  2. Set up an electronic payroll, pension, or government benefits direct deposit.
  3. Receive qualifying direct deposits totaling at least $1,000 within 90 days of enrolling with the coupon.
  4. Chase deposits the $400 cash bonus directly into your checking account within 15 business days after you meet the deposit threshold.

The deposit requirement is a minimum of $1,000 or more in your existing account earnings. However, Chase requires the account to remain open for at least six months; closing it earlier triggers an automatic clawback of the $400 credit. (all claims as of September 2026)

So I advise against closing it right after you earn the bonus.

Because this is an open checking account, you don’t need a minimum withdrawal floor; you can take out or add as much as you want.

SoFi ($50 to $400)

My old bank charged me $12 a month just to keep my money there. SoFi paid me $400 to keep it. That's the first time switching banks has ever felt like it was on my side.

SoFi does saving, spending, and borrowing in one app, with no account fees. It wants you off a high-street bank badly enough to pay you to switch, and the bonus rises in tiers based on how much you end up depositing.

Similar to Chase, there is nothing to grind here either. You just point your pay somewhere new.

How the bonus works:

  1. Open a new SoFi Checking and Savings account online.
  2. Set up direct deposit through your employer or payroll provider.
  3. Receive qualifying direct deposits within the 25 days that start the day your first direct deposit lands.
  4. You get $50 if your direct deposits add up to between $1,000 and $5,000, and $400 if they reach $5,000 or more.

The waiting is honestly the hardest part. You do the five minutes of setup, then just... wait. I caught myself checking the app more than I'd like to admit during those 25 days.

The bonus arrives as unrestricted, spendable cash. No withdrawal minimums or mandatory asset-holding periods; you can spend it with your SoFi debit card, withdraw cash at fee-free Allpoint ATMs, or move it to another bank via standard ACH transfer. (all claims as of September 2026)

I'm not saying skip the $50 tier — free money is free money — but if you're picturing $400 and your paycheck doesn't support it, it could be a let down at the end of the month.

Chime ($100)

If you've only got the energy for one bank-style bonus on this whole list, make it this one. Chime isn't even technically a traditional bank; it's the app that does everything a bank does, minus the fees, plus getting your paycheck to you early.

Its $100 is the easiest bank-style bonus on this page to trigger because the deposit it asks for is small. Plus, if you are US-based, you could get up to an additional $140 if you open your new Chime account through Freecash

How the bonus works:

  1. Sign up for a Chime checking account using an active member referral link.
  2. Complete basic identity verification to open the account.
  3. Receive a single qualifying payroll or benefits direct deposit of $200 or more within 45 days of enrollment.
  4. Receive an instant $100 cash bonus deposited into your Chime account.

Creating your direct deposit account takes about five minutes and requires a modest $200 direct deposit from an employer or government provider. The $100 bonus typically credits within seven business days of the direct deposit clearing. (all claims as of September 2026)

There is no minimum cashout barrier. The $100 is immediately available to spend using your Chime Visa Debit Card, or transfer to an external bank account.

This was the lowest bar of any bank bonus I've used. Deposit $200, get $100 back, and nothing stands between you and spending it.

Cash App ($10)

You've probably already got Cash App on your phone. It's the one you use to split a dinner bill or pay a friend back for gas money. Turns out it'll pay you, too. Bring a friend along, send them a little money, and Cash App hands you a $10 bonus for doing something you were basically going to do anyway.

How the bonus works:

  1. Download Cash App and register a new personal account.
  2. Enter an invite code in your profile menu (you can find one in the Cash App subreddit).
  3. Link an external debit card or bank account.
  4. Send at least $5 to another user within 14 calendar days.
  5. Receive a $10 cash bonus into your available balance within 30 days.

The entire process takes under three minutes. It requires only $5 in temporary capital to complete the transfer—and if you send it to a friend or relative, they can send that $5 straight back to you.

Cash App has a $0.00 withdrawal minimum. You can spend your bonus immediately with the free Cash App Visa debit card, transfer it back to your bank account for free (takes 1 to 3 business days), or pay a small fee for an instant debit card cashout.

Robinhood ($5 to $200)

Imagine telling a friend you own stock for the first time. When they ask which one, you don't actually know because Robinhood picked it for you. That's how you earn the bonus: a random share worth $5 to $200, waiting the moment you finish signing up.

1 free fractional or whole share of stock valued from $5 to $200 (with roughly 98% of awards settling between $5 and $10).

How the bonus works:

  1. Register for an account through the Robinhood app or website.
  2. Complete basic personal identity verification to get your individual brokerage account approved.
  3. Link an external bank account to verify your profile.
  4. Select a surprise gift card on screen to reveal your free share of stock.

Unlike the bank options, Robinhood requires $0.00 in deposits; you do not need to fund the account to receive the stock. Just verify your ID.

You can sell the awarded stock after a standard two-day trade settlement period. Just keep in mind Robinhood enforces a mandatory 30-day anti-money laundering hold on the cash proceeds from that promotional sale.

Once the 30-day window expires, you can transfer the cash directly to your external bank account with a $5 minimum withdrawal floor.

Fetch Rewards ($3)

Every grocery run, gas fill-up, or pharmacy stop leaves you holding a receipt you don't want. Fetch Rewards just asks you to photograph it so it's actually worth something.

They use your grocery receipts to help better track consumer data. So they pay you to simply provide what you typically buy from day to day.

Fetch Rewards referral page with a scannable QR codeFetch Rewards referral page with a scannable QR code · September, 2026

For the sign up bonus, you will need a referral code. A couple you could grab are from the ride share guy or cash prior. Granted its only around $3.00, but if you need something right now, even a few bucks, this could be your ticket.

Your first receipt scan also adds up to $3.00, so if you've got a receipt and a referral code, that's around $6 right after sign-up.

How the bonus works:

  1. Download the Fetch app and create a free account.
  2. Enter an active referral promo code during the registration flow.
  3. Snap a picture of your first physical receipt from any grocery store, supermarket, gas station, or pharmacy.
  4. The 2,000 to 3,000 bonus points credit to your account ledger immediately once the receipt finishes processing.

One thing I will say is that you can only withdraw via gift cards. The minimum is $5 for most gift cards, so your first sign-up and receipt typically covers this. Think Starbucks, Target, and Amazon, those are your best offers.

Freecash ($10)

You've probably got a few minutes of dead phone time every day that isn't earning you anything, like waiting in line, half-watching TV, or scrolling before bed. Freecash pays you for some of that time: play a game, test an app, or earn cash back from purchases you already made at your favorite store.

I work for Freecash and write for them, but I'd honestly argue it's one of the better sign-up bonuses on this list, not just one of the easier ones. Unlike some of the other options here, you don't have to buy anything to unlock it. And once you clear the minimum, there's no 30-day hold keeping your own money out of reach.

Here's exactly how it works:

  1. Sign up on Freecash using your email, Google, or Facebook
  2. Start your first task, offer, or game — that's what unlocks your $10 bonus
  3. The bonus credits to your balance right away
  4. Complete more tasks to reach the $25 minimum
  5. Verify your email and ID, and once your balance clears the minimum, make your first withdrawal

The $25 minimum is what you're actually working toward, and your $10 bonus is a solid head start. But you'll still need to close the $15 gap with a few small tasks, usually worth anywhere from $0.01 to about $10 each. Most people get there in a couple of hours to a day.

Swagbucks ($10.00)

Like Fetch Rewards and Freecash, Swagbucks lets you earn on your day-to-day purchases. The difference? You have to wait 30 days before you can withdraw. (as of September 2026)

That's why I would recommend going for the others first, but if you want a nice surprise at the end of the month, you might as well sign up, right? Then you have future money waiting for you.

Because Swagbucks is an affiliate partner for thousands of online merchants, its welcome promotion offers a $10 bonus (1,000 SB) structured as a shopping rebate.

Swagbucks homepage with a sign-up panel offering a cash bonusSwagbucks homepage with a sign-up panel offering a cash bonus · September, 2026

How the bonus works:

  1. Create a free Swagbucks account.
  2. Locate and activate the $10 (1,000 SB) welcome bonus in your account's "Swagup" dashboard.
  3. Complete a qualifying purchase of at least $25 at a participating store through the Swagbucks Shop portal within 30 days of registration.
  4. Receive 1,000 SB into your account balance once merchant transaction tracking clears.

Outside the 30 days, Swagbucks also requires you to spend at least $25 on a commercial purchase you already planned to make (such as household goods at Walmart, Target, or Best Buy).

Clicking through the portal takes only a minute, though merchant verification holds typically keep the bonus pending for roughly 30 days to account for potential order returns.

Swagbucks allows users to redeem rewards starting at just 100 to 500 SB ($1.00 to $5) for PayPal deposits, direct bank deposits, or gift cards. The 1,000 SB bonus is two to ten times the minimum cashout threshold, unlocking an immediate withdrawal as soon as the pending period clears.

Acorns ($5.00 – $20.00)

I don't usually think about investing or transferring a bunch of money every month, but that's exactly why I highly suggest using Acorns.

It just rounds up your card purchases and quietly invests the spare change. You can open an account with as little as $5, and they match it with a bonus investment worth $5 to $20, sometimes more through specific promo links.

Acorns promo page offering a $5 investing sign-up bonusAcorns promo page offering a $5 investing sign-up bonus · September, 2026

I would just really be careful, because they do charge a subscription of $3.00 a month. And if you don't withdraw soon enough, you’ll lose whatever sign-up bonus you got.How the bonus works:

  1. Register for an Acorns account and complete the investor profile questionnaire.
  2. Open an Acorns Invest portfolio and link your primary bank account.
  3. Make an initial one-time deposit or establish an automated recurring investment of at least $5.
  4. Receive a $5 to $20 bonus investment credited directly to your investment portfolio.

The promotional investment typically takes three to five weeks to fully clear into your portfolio.

The good news is you can sell your portfolio shares at any time. Liquidations settle through standard brokerage clearing in two to three business days and can be transferred back to your linked checking account with a $0.00 minimum cashout floor.

Coinbase ($5.00 BTC)

Coinbase is built to be the crypto exchange normal people can actually figure out. That's why I suggest it if you want the least amount of work. The only thing is, you should already have more or less of an idea about investing, because a $50 for $5 trade-off isn't the best unless you already plan to trade anyway.

The sign-up is usually $5 in free Bitcoin, unless you have access to a randomized "Spin the Wheel" incentive offering prizes up to $200 in crypto.

Disclaimer: We at Freecash do not provide financial advice. This is purely from my personal experience. Trade and invest at your own risk.

How the bonus works:

  1. Create a new Coinbase account
  2. Complete photographic identity verification by uploading an ID.
  3. Link an external bank account or debit card.
  4. Execute a single first-time purchase or trade of at least $50 in any available digital asset.
  5. Receive your $5 Bitcoin reward or spin the reward wheel to reveal your crypto prize.

Identity checks take roughly 10 minutes, and the qualifying purchase requires committing $50 in capital. Keep in mind that standard retail trading fees and spread margins will absorb roughly $1.00 to $3.00 of your trade value.

The bonus crypto posts directly to your asset ledger. You can sell it for US Dollars immediately. Withdrawing fiat funds back to your linked bank account is subject to standard ACH clearing holds of three to seven business days.

Here are some more examples of how the app generally looks below.

InboxDollars ($5.00)

If you enjoy giving your opinion, why not get paid for it? Sign-up bonuses for survey and research platforms can be quite rewarding. You sign up like a reward app, then apply for research or survey questionnaires, and you get paid for your answers.

I sat down to hit the cashout minimum, but it took a few sittings and about 10 hours to clear $15, mostly because a few surveys disqualified me partway through. I've seen people say they got there in five — it really comes down to which surveys you happen to match with and how you answer.

The $5 sign-up bonus lands the second you verify your email. You can also build your balance by reading emails or picking up extra surveys on the side.

InboxDollars survey homepage sign-up panel showing a $5 bonusInboxDollars survey homepage sign-up panel showing a $5 bonus · September, 2026

How the bonus works:

  1. Sign up with a valid email address.
  2. Confirm your email verification link and finish basic account onboarding.
  3. An instant $5 cash bonus is immediately credited to your account ledger.
  4. Complete surveys, games, and web searches to build your account toward the payout barrier.

Registration takes under five minutes and requires $0.00 in capital. However, InboxDollars has a high initial cashout floor of $15. Because individual surveys pay modest rates (often <currency=.25/>to $1.00 each), earning the remaining $10 requires a dedicated time grind of several days to a couple of weeks.

Scrambly ($0.50 – $5.00)

Fifty cents won't buy you much of anything on its own. It does, however, buy you a head start. You can earn up to an extra $5 by signing up for Scrambly using a friend's referral link, but you won't get the money immediately. You must first complete tasks like a game or other offers.

Once you reach your first $5, Scrambly will double it and give you an extra $5, but only if you sign up using a friend's referral link. Otherwise, you only get $0.50. (as of September 2026)

Scrambly sign-up screen offering a 500 coin bonusScrambly sign-up screen offering a 500 coin bonus · September, 2026

How the bonus works:

  1. Register on Scrambly using your email or Google account.
  2. Verify your email address to receive an instant 500 Scramble Coins ($0.50).
  3. Use a referral affiliate link to unlock up to $5 in bonus earnings after reaching your first partner milestone.
  4. Complete quick casual game goals to accumulate additional coins.
  5. Requires $0.00 out of pocket and roughly 15 to 30 minutes of time. Playing a single featured mobile game to reach stage 5 or 10 will earn the remaining 500 coins needed to meet the platform's minimum payout threshold.

What actually stood out to me is how fast this one pays out compared to everything else on this list. $1.00 — just 1,000 coins — is enough for a PayPal transfer, a Visa virtual card, or an Amazon gift card, and it's usually done in minutes. If you'd rather it land directly in your bank account, that takes a bit more: $10, or 10,000 coins, via ACH. (as of September 2026)
