How to get Canva Pro for free in 2025

Canva Pro costs $15/month, or $10/month if you pay for a year, and for that money you get access to their complete toolkit, increased storage, and most importantly, permission to use their full library of assets. This is the version of Canva you probably need if you want to create multiple, complex graphics. 

But, obviously, none of us want to pay $15 every month if we can avoid it. I certainly didn't when I started my YouTube channel a few years ago. However, I was able to get Canva Pro for free, specifically Canva Campus through my college. 

If you want to get Canva Pro for free, here are the best methods: 

Use the 30-day Canva free trial

We will start with the most obvious way to get access to Canva Pro: Use the free trial. You will need to enter payment details to start the trial, and it only lasts 30 days, but this is the perfect solution if you only want to use Canva Pro once. 

 If you plan to use Canva Pro for more than one occasion, then this not a solution (you cannot keep using different emails to apply for the trial, as they ask for new payment details each time). 

Use a task site to buy Canva Pro for free

If you are not a student, and you do not work for charity, then you will need to buy Canva Pro. However, rather than spending your own money, you can use a task site to get the funds to buy Canva Pro. 

If you aren't familiar with task sites, sometimes called get-paid-to sites, these platforms will pay you for completing simple tasks online, on behalf of market research companies. For instance, they might ask you to finish a survey, play a new game, or test a product. 

You can complete these tasks on your phone, earn cash, and withdraw the funds to PayPal or via bank transfer. On a task site like Freecash, users earn about $40 a day, so you could buy a month of Canva Pro in a few hours. 

In school? Use Canva Education

If you're a student between kindergarden and high school (ages 5-18), or a teacher of students at that level, you can use Canva Education for free, which is basically Canva Pro. This is also available to anyone outside the US, you simply need to apply using the details of your institution. 

Teachers and students are able to apply at an individual level but, especially for larger schools, Canva recommend applying for Canva Education as an institution. To do this I recommend contacting the IT department of your school and asking them. 

In higher education? You may have Canva Campus 

Unlike other version of Canva Pro, like Education and Non-Profit, Canva Campus is not free. However, your college may have paid for Canva Campus, in which case you can use the program as a student. 

Many colleges have signed up, like UCLA, Dartmouth, and Texas State. To check whether your institution has signed up,  I recommend you first to sign in with your college email, and if that fails, inquire with the IT department in case there are plans to roll out Canva out soon. 

Apply for Canva Non-Profit

If you work for a registered charity or nonprofit, or you are at least working on a not-for-profit basis, you may be eligible to apply for Canva Non-Profit. This is effectively a free version of Canva Pro with all the same features, although it will technically be a Non-Profit account. 

You can find their full eligibility guidelines per country here, but in general they are fairly lenient unless your charity falls under one of the following categories: 

If you aren't sure whether your charity falls under one of these ineligible categories, I would recommend that you apply anyway. You might get lucky. 

Is Canva Free good enough? 

Canva Free is a very good tool and should be enough to meet your needs if you are an amateur looking to create clean but simple graphics. 

Certain features of Pro, like the background remover and magic resizer, are not worth paying for anyway, as there are so many free alternatives that provide these tools, like Photopea. But Pro is worth it if you want access to their library of assets, which is really what you're paying for. 

For commercial needs, or for those who want to create a lot of graphics, Canva Free will be probably too limiting.
