If you believe you were silenced, suspended, or permanently banned unfairly, you can submit a support ticket at Blizzard's help centre to appeal the decision. This is the only legitimate way to get unbanned.
Follow the steps below to submit an appeal.
- Log in to Battle.net and open a Support Ticket.
- Enter the details in the text field, including all relevant information and why you believe the ban is a mistake.
- Press Continue.
You can check the status of your support ticket here. You cannot appeal a decision after a final review has been given.
Explain your case fully for the best possible outcome. Mild offenses are easier to appeal and may result in an unban. Players with serious offenses such as hate speech or racial slurs have no chance of getting unbanned.
Hopefully you can get back in before the next store reset.
Why Players Get Banned in Overwatch 2
| Cheating | Using third-party software, win-trading, or scamming |
|---|---|
| Communication | Hate speech, disruptive language, harassment, or obscenities in text or voice chat |
| Behavior | In-game activity that ruins the player experience, such as griefing, smurfing, trolling, or throwing matches |
| Naming | Offensive user-customizable names, such as in-game player IDs or BattleTag names |
Depending on the violation, you'll receive a different type of account ban.
Understand the Types of Account Bans in Overwatch 2
Blizzard divides bans into three categories based on the severity of the violation.
Silencing
A silence ban bars the account holder from communicating with other players in any way, including voice and text chat. This punishment targets toxic and abusive players who misuse chat.
Suspension
A suspension temporarily bars offenders from playing the game. Suspensions are handed out to players who quit competitive matches mid-game or troll teammates. Account sharing and boosting can also result in a suspension.
Permanent Banning
A permanent ban is reserved for the most severe violations, including cheaters who use aim hacks or wall hacks to disrupt casual or competitive gameplay. Learn how to earn rewards while playing games legitimately instead.
