Jimmy “Mr Beast” Donaldson has SNUBBED Twitch in favour of the controversial streaming platform Kick. That’s right, the world’s most popular content creator is jumping ship and moving away from Twitch in a move that could earn MILLIONS… and not just for Jimmy.
Mr Beast is going live for charity
On August 14 2025, Mr Beast is starting a stream that can’t end until $5 Million is raised for TeamWater, Donaldson’s August fundraiser in support of WaterAid. The charity aims to raise $40 Million in total, so this stream, if successful, could put quite the dent in that target.
Mr Beast is even being joined by xQc and Adin Ross in what will be a star-studded stream for charity. Let’s hope it reaches the donation goal quickly, or they’ll be live for a long time! If you’re watching, why not get your phone out and earn money by gaming alongside the streamers?
ME ADIN AND XQC ARE GOING LIVE ON AUGUST 14th FOR MY FIRST KICK STREAM! WE CANT END THE STREAM UNTIL WE RAIZE $5,000,000 FOR TEAMWATER HOPEFULLY IT DOESN’T TAKE DAYS
Twitch is by far the most popular platform for streaming. Kick claims to have 57 Million active users, whereas Twitch’s count is estimated to be a massive 240 Million. So why go to the platform that’s been criticised for ethical reasons by streamers since its launch?
Well, money, first of all. The owner of Kick, Ed Craven, promised to donate $2 Million himself if Mr Beast streamed on Kick, which is a pretty nice bonus.
In addition, Kick hasn’t had as long as Twitch to build up bad will with creators. Twitch has been in the streaming game since way back in 2011, and has had a ton of criticism throughout that time for a variety of reasons.
Since the platform was purchased by Amazon, more and more complaints have come from creators for things like low payment, an unfair revenue split, and copyright issues. Kick has been able to come in and be the new kid on the block, offering massive amounts of money to streamers to get them onto their platform.
Whatever the reason, Mr Beast’s first ever Kick stream has made headlines. And hey, you can make money by watching videos anyway, so you might as well tune in!
