What you'll need to run Freecash
Freecash is built on modern web technology to give you the fastest, most reliable experience possible. To use the app whether on your phone or in a browser your device needs to meet the minimum requirements below.
iOS (iPhone & iPad)
Minimum required: iOS 16.4 or later.
If your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 16.4 or above, you're good to go.
If you're on iOS 16.0–16.3, you can fix this by updating your device:
- Go to Settings → General → Software Update.
- Download and install any available update.
- Once updated, reopen Freecash.
What if my iPhone can't update?
Some older iPhone models are capped at iOS 15 by Apple and cannot be updated further. This includes the iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE (1st generation). Unfortunately, these devices are no longer able to run Freecash.
If you're on one of these devices, we recommend accessing Freecash from a newer device or a desktop/laptop browser instead.
Android
Minimum required: Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later.
Most Android phones running Android 8.0 or above will work fine. If you're experiencing issues, try the following:
- Update Android System WebView via the Google Play Store.
- Make sure Chrome is up to date (version 111 or later).
- Restart the Freecash app.
Web browser (desktop & mobile)
Freecash supports all major modern browsers. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version for the best experience.
- Safari (macOS & iOS): version 16.4 or later
- Chrome: version 111 or later
- Edge: version 111 or later
- Firefox: version 111 or later
If you're on an older browser, you may see a loading screen that never finishes. Updating your browser will resolve this.
Troubleshooting: stuck on a loading screen?
If Freecash shows a loading animation that never goes away, this is almost always caused by an unsupported browser or OS version. Clearing your cache or reinstalling the app won't fix this — the issue is with the software version on your device.
Here's what to try:
- iPhone/iPad: Update to iOS 16.4 or later via Settings → General → Software Update.
- Android: Update Chrome and Android System WebView via the Google Play Store.
- Desktop: Update your browser to the latest version.
- Older iPhone that can't update: Access Freecash from a desktop or laptop browser instead.
