From Sabrina Carpenter to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Fortnite has had more collabs than any other game. But with so many incredible skins to buy, you'll need to get some V-Bucks.
Luckily, you can get V-Bucks for free, here are the methods I recommend.
Earn free V-Bucks from the Battle Pass
Let's start with the obvious and easiest way to get free V-Bucks: Play a lot and level up your Battle Pass. Every activity you do in game will level up your Battle Pass.
You get 300 V-Bucks for completing the free Battle Pass. But, if you have the funds, buy the premium version for 1000 V-Bucks and you will earn 1500 back. Which effectively means you get 500 V-Bucks for free.
Use Freecash to get money for V-Bucks
Completing the Fortnite Battle Pass will take you at least 50 hours, all for only 300 V-Bucks. A far more efficient way to get free V-Bucks is by earning money on Freecash for a few hours and buying V-Back yourself.
Freecash is a platform where you get paid for completing micro tasks online, from testing new games and apps to answering surveys. It's a quick and simple way to make money online.
Sign up is free and takes less than a minute. Once you're in, simply pick the tasks that interest you, complete them, and cash out your earnings with PayPal or bank transfer.
If you joined right now and started completing tasks, you could earn a few thousand V-Bucks by lunch. Keep earning for a whole month, and you might even make that month's first-to-$5,000 leaderboard:
This is the fastest way to get V-Bucks without spending your own money. You can start today, from home, with just a mobile.
Subscribe to Fortnite Crew for free monthly V-Bucks
Fortnite Crew is a monthly subscription service that costs $12, and for that price you get access to all the active Battle Passes (the Fortnite Battle Pass, the OG Pass, the LEGO Pass, and the Music Pass), as well as 1,000 V-Bucks every month.
Now, $12 for 1,000 V-Bucks is not in itself a good deal, but if you're subscribed to the Crew for the duration of one season (2-3 months), and add the V-Bucks you can earn back from the original Pass, you're effectively getting 4500 V-Bucks for $36. That is a solid discount, plus you're getting all the skins from the Passes and the additional Crew skin.
Subscribing to Fortnite Crew is not the best way to get free V-Bucks, unless you play a lot of Fortnite, Fortnite OG and Fortnite LEGO. If you do play all three, the Crew subscription makes sense.
Earn V-Bucks from Daily Quests with a Save the World Founder's Key
Most have now forgotten this, but Fortnite was originally just a free-to-play mode within a paid game. That game was called Save the World, and was basically a co-op looter shooter in a Zombie setting.
Because Save the World was so completely dwarfed by the incredible success of Fortnite, nobody talks about Save the World anymore. But it does now have one very specific use for Fortnite players.
If you were one of the original buyers of Save the World, you got a 'Founder's Key'. With a 'Founder's Key', you get access to Daily Quests that pay at least 80 V-Bucks each.
In theory, this means you can get free V-Bucks every single day. The problem? Buying a Founder's Key nowadays is incredibly expensive, at least $300.
For most of you, therefore, it probably is not worth it, but here is an idea of how much V-Bucks you would get in return for your $300:
Source | V-Bucks Amount |
---|
Daily Quests | 80 / 90 / 130 V-Bucks per quest |
Mission Alerts | 30–35 V-Bucks per alert |
Main Story Quests | 2,500 V-Bucks total |
Challenges | 2,600 V-Bucks total |
Zone Stack Bonus | 4,200 V-Bucks |
If you complete all the main content, you get about 10,000 V-Bucks ($100). To make back the rest of your money, you would need to log in and complete Daily Quests for at least 250 days.
For most of you, I think this is probably not the best way to get free V-Bucks, unless you already have money to spend, and you intend to play regularly for years to come.
Avoid 'V-Bucks Generators'
If you search for "free V-Bucks" online, you'll find a number of so called 'V-Bucks Generators'. All of these sites look similar, they promise free V-Bucks so long as you provide your Fortnite account information.
These 'V-Bucks Generators' are all scams. They either want to steal your personal information or install malware on your device. Please, whatever you do, avoid these 'V-Bucks Generators'. I want you to enjoy paid gaming, I don't want you to get played.
