You can earn Select and Premium skins for free through the battle pass or giveaways
Reward platforms offer tasks you can complete to earn toward Valorant skins
Riot hosts competitions that occasionally lead to ultra-rare Valorant skin rewards
I've been playing Valorant since the beta in 2020, which has taught me a lot about the best Valorant skins and how to earn them.
Riot hasn't given players a direct way to earn valuable skins for free, but the Valorant community has found several working methods to pick up Select and even Premium skins without paying full price.
Grind Out the Battle Pass
The Valorant battle pass is one of the more consistent ways to earn free skins within a 60-day period. While the paid tier costs Valorant Points, the free Valorant battle pass track still unlocks cosmetics as you level up.

Beyond skins, the free track includes several other cosmetics. Here's what it typically contains:
- Three Player Cards
- Three Player Titles
- Three Gun Buddies
- Two Sprays
- Two Radiant Point lots
- One free sidearm skin
The paid battle pass unlocks significantly more, including high-tier weapon skins. You can cover the cost without spending your own money by earning rewards on Freecash and putting it toward your next pass.
Complete Agent Contracts
Agent contracts reward you with cosmetics as you level them up. One contract can be active at a time, and each runs across 10 levels before unlocking the free weapon skin at the end.

These contracts work well for players without a fixed schedule, since XP accumulates naturally through regular play. The table below maps each agent to the weapon skin type their contract unlocks, so you can prioritize based on your preferred loadout.
| Weapon Skin Type |
Agent Contract |
| Sheriff |
Brimstone, Sova, Jett, Yoru, Harbor |
| Ghost |
Omen, Cypher, Reyna, Astra |
| Frenzy |
Phoenix, Breach, Skye, Neon |
| Classic |
Sage, Raze, KAY/O, Chamber, Deadlock |
| Shorty |
Viper, Killjoy, Fade, Gekko |

Finishing a contract at a casual pace takes roughly a month. Players with more time can move through them faster, but there's no expiry pressure.
Earn Money for Skins on Freecash
Freecash doesn't hand out Valorant skins directly, but it pays real money you can put toward any skin you want. Play mobile games, complete surveys, or watch short videos to build up your balance.

When you're ready to cash out, choose from options including PayPal, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. Getting started takes under a minute:
- Sign up to Freecash using Google, Steam, email, or Facebook.
- Complete tasks — mobile game offers and research surveys pay the most consistently.
- Cash out and use your earnings to buy the skin you want in Valorant.
Freecash also lists AFK-friendly offers that progress with minimal input.
Find Influencer Giveaways
Valorant streamers and esports players regularly collaborate with Riot to give away in-game cosmetics. Following the right accounts on Twitch, YouTube, X, and Discord puts you in range of these drops when they go live.
These are the most reliable places to catch active giveaways:
- Riot on X: The Riot Games account announces giveaways that tend to spread quickly. Following and checking notifications is enough to stay informed.
- VCT tournaments: Watching events on the Valorant Esports site sometimes includes in-game drops and cosmetic rewards tied to viewership.
- Twitch: Streamers like Shroud and Kyedae run giveaways directly, or browse the Valorant category to find others.
Higher-value skins rarely appear in giveaways, but Bulldog skins, knives, and other cosmetics do show up for lucky entrants. Giveaways are infrequent, so treating this as a passive channel rather than a primary strategy works better.
Submit Artwork to Riot Games
Riot occasionally rewards players who submit Valorant-themed artwork with free Valorant Points. Submissions that stand out get shared on social media, used in promotional materials, or referenced as concept inspiration.
To submit, go to the Valorant Support page and open a request to send your piece. The work doesn't need to be polished, but it should clearly relate to Valorant and show genuine effort.
