Cashback is a new feature on Freecash that allows you to save money when shopping online. Please note that this product is still evolving, may change over time, and is currently only available in Germany.
When you buy through one of our partner shops, Freecash receives a small commission for referring you. Instead of keeping it, we return most of this commission to you as cashback.
Here’s how it works:
- Log in to your Freecash account and navigate to the Cashback section, where you can search for partner shops.
- Choose a shop and click through to their website using the cashback tracking link.
- Complete your purchase as usual on the shop’s site.
- The partner shop reports your order back to us, and from there we add the cashback to your account, where it appears as ‘Pending’. Cashback usually appears within 10 minutes, but depending on the shop it may take a few hours (rarely up to 48 hours).
- Once the shop confirms your order was not canceled or refunded, the cashback will appear as ‘Paid’ and is available to withdraw.
- Many shops confirm within a few days.
- Some wait until their return period ends (usually 14–30 days).
- Certain categories, like travel or subscriptions, may take weeks or even months.
Cashback is calculated on the net purchase amount. This means shipping fees, taxes, and service charges are excluded. For example, if you order items worth €100 plus €10 shipping and €5 tax, and the shop offers 5% cashback, you will earn €5 (5% of €100).
To make sure everything tracks correctly:
- Always start your purchase from the Freecash link (not directly on the shop’s website).
- Delete all cookies before ordering to prevent conflicts from previous visits.
- Complete your purchase in one go, without opening other tabs, revisiting price comparison sites, or closing the browser window.
- Shop in your web browser, not through the shop’s app.
- Accept cookies and allow tracking (on iOS: Settings > Safari > Cross-Site Tracking).
- Disable ad-blockers during checkout.
- Only use voucher codes listed on Freecash—other codes may cancel cashback.
- If on iOS, disable iCloud Private Relay (Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Private Relay).
