Cashback goes through two stages before it becomes available to withdraw, pending and paid.
- Pending: Once you have completed a purchase, the shop reports it to Freecash, and your cashback appears in your account. This usually happens within 10 minutes.
- Paid: The shop verifies that the purchase was not canceled or refunded. Only after this step does your cashback become available for withdrawal.
If your cashback has been declined, and you believe we’ve made a mistake, submit a Cashback support ticket [link to submitting tickets article]. Thankfully, 90% of shops allow transaction queries, and in these cases we work closely with shops to help recover your cashback even if it wasn’t tracked automatically.
The time between pending and paid varies:
- Many shops confirm within a few days.
- Some shops wait until their return period ends.
- Certain categories, such as subscriptions, may take weeks or even months to confirm, and travel bookings will only be confirmed once you have been on the trip.
- We provide an estimated time until cashback beneath every offer.
While your cashback is pending, it is securely tracked but not yet spendable. Once the shop confirms the purchase, your cashback updates to Paid, and you can withdraw it.
