If you somehow still haven’t seen Severance, it’s time you sorted that out sharpish. Apple TV isn’t the most popular streaming service in the world, but when the most talked-about shows are on there, it becomes harder to ignore. It’s not just Severance, either. Silo, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses are also really good shows, so you might find it worth getting access to Apple TV for less or free.
Apple TV+ Trials (1 Week, 1 Month, or 3 Months)
The classic method - the free trial. By signing up directly through Apple, new customers can gain access to Apple TV+ for 7 days. This should be more than enough to binge that one show you’re dying to watch, and maybe start a new one so Apple can get you to sign up for another month or twelve.
You can also subscribe to Apple One, which bundles Apple’s services like iCloud, Apple Music, and Apple Arcade. The total cost is a bit more expensive, with the individual subscription coming in at £18.95/month, but you can get a 1 month free trial to this service, which includes Apple TV+ and a whole lot more. Sounds a lot better than just a week.
You can also get longer free trials if you purchase Apple products. Specifics differ depending on the area you live in, but in a lot of areas, purchasing a new iPhone, iPad, or Mac will gain you 3 months free Apple TV+.
Just be sure to set a reminder to cancel the subscription before it renews at a higher price, or you might forget and see a surprising and unwelcome charge at the end of your watch spree!
Discounts and Deals
Student Discount
If you’re studying, you should be able to get Apple TV+ for a significantly discounted price. You’ll have to verify your eligibility and student status, but once you do, you can subscribe to Apple Music and get Apple TV+ for free!
That lowers the price to £5.99/month, along with a month’s free trial and Apple Music access. Maybe I should go back to uni.
New User Price
At time of writing, new users can access Apple TV for £2.99/month (4,99€/month) for the first 3 months, before the subscription jumps up to £8.99. That’s a pretty cheap way to watch some premium telly.
Go to Settings, tap your name, and then ‘Subscriptions’ to get on it. You can even use Freecash to make the £2.99 a month essentially free!
