The short version
  • Yes, you can get free Valorant Points, but only through six legitimate routes, never generators.

  • Riot's Art for In-Game Currency program covers part of a VP shortfall, and AI art doesn't count.

  • Microsoft Rewards needs 5,500 points for a $5 Xbox gift card, which buys 475 VP.

  • Freecash doesn't give VP directly, but you can earn rewards that let you purchase some for free.

You can play Valorant for hundreds of hours without spending a cent and still own nothing in the store. The game hands you Kingdom Credits just for playing, but those only unlock agents and accessories, and every weapon skin costs VP.

So I went through every free method I could find and kept the ones that actually put VP in your account.

Send Valorant art to Riot's Player Support

Imagine you are about to buy an Elderflame skin, and just as you go to click the button to claim, you are hit with a message that you are 200 VP short. This is where this one method is super unique: Riot itself gives you VP for free.

The Art for In-Game Currency program lets you send your own art to Player Support, and they cover a percentage of whatever you're short in from the store. I'd save it for exactly that moment.

You open a support ticket, choose In-Game Question/Issue & In-Game content refund, then Free VP for Art Request, and attach what you made (as of October 2026).

Any kind of art counts, from drawings and poems to music and cosplay, so you don't need to be good at drawing. It has to be yours, though, and AI art doesn't count. Riot also keeps the amount secret and asks you to wait a few months between requests.

Turn Microsoft Rewards points into VP on Xbox

If you are a big Microsoft fan (like me) and use Bing in your day to day to surf the web, this option very well could be for you.

Microsoft Rewards is another way to get VP without spending anything. You earn points by searching with Bing, and 5,500 of them get you a $5 Xbox gift card, which buys the 475 VP bundle for $4.99 in the US Xbox Store (as of October 2026).

VP is shared between PC and console, so the VP shows up on your PC account too. They arrive as a code you redeem in the game.

On its own, 475 VP is short of a skin, so I'd stack it with one of the methods below.

Earn rewards on a task app and buy VP

Once the free routes above run out, you have to buy VP, so that's where things start to get more difficult. This is where finding a good reward app really comes in to save the day.

The app I use is Freecash. It doesn't give you VP directly, but it rewards you for answering surveys and testing new games, because game studios pay to find new players and it passes part of that on to you.

You then cash out to PayPal or your bank and buy VP in the game, or pick up a Valorant gift card like these.

The cheapest skins cost 875 VP, so you'd buy the 1,000 VP bundle, which is $9.99 in the US (as of October 2026). The first cashout needs $25 (this may differ depending on your region), which covers 2,050 VP and a 475 VP top-up at those prices.

I technically write for Freecash, but I'd genuinely use it for VP myself. Just know you're still buying the points with your rewards, not getting them free. If you want the details, our guide covers how signing up and cashing out work.

Use Buff while playing Valorant

If you'd rather earn while you play, Buff is built for you. It is essentially a loyalty program for gaming. You download the app, keep it running in the background, and earn a small amount whenever you play games they have partnered with.

You can then exchange your 'Buff Points' for Riot gift cards, which you redeem for VP (as of October 2026).

While Buff works, the points won't flood in all at once. It's a slow burn, so pair it up with other methods like Freecash if you can.

Buff does run a program in the background on your PC, and for that reason alone, some of you may want to avoid it. That's understandable, but at least from my own experience, I can't say I've suffered any negative consequences after using Buff (as of October 2026).

Enter social media giveaways for Valorant Points

Plenty of fan-owned Valorant and LoL accounts host giveaways for Valorant Points and Riot Points.

Normally, these giveaways take the form of posts you like and repost for a chance to win.

X giveaway post: like, repost, tag 2 friendsX giveaway post: like, repost, tag 2 friends · October, 2026

This isn't the most reliable way to earn Valorant Points, since odds of winning are super low. But it's so quick and easy to enter a giveaway that I recommend applying for as many as you can when you find them. Just never hand over your Riot login to enter one.

You can do this alongside any of the steadier methods above.

Ask a friend to gift you VP

If someone was going to get you a birthday present anyway, ask for VP. On PC, a friend can buy a VP bundle as a gift and you get it immediately.

The person gifting has to be level 15 or higher, and you need to have been friends for at least a week (as of October 2026).

Avoid Valorant Point generator scams

So-called "Valorant Point generators" are nothing but scams, however convincingly they claim to conjure up free points out of thin air. These shady setups can put your account, personal information, and device security at serious risk.

The same goes for sites offering "free VP codes". Riot's codes are either gift cards someone paid for, which add VP, or content codes for one specific item, like a gun buddy (as of October 2026).

Riot's own terms list three ways to get in-game content: buy it, earn it, or receive it as a gift. A generator is none of those, and what it's usually after is your Riot login, which Riot says you should only ever enter at authenticate.riotgames.com.
